Foot odor isn’t just about sweat – it’s about bacterial metabolism. Feet produce 200ml+ sweat daily, creating a breeding ground for bacteria that convert amino acids into volatile compounds. Chemical antibacterials kill bacteria temporarily, but residues wash away and raise skin sensitivity issues.

Coffee grounds naturally absorb odors and inhibit bacterial growth – that’s why cafes smell pleasant despite high foot traffic. But raw coffee particles are too coarse for textiles. What if we could carbonize coffee waste into nano-porous structures and embed them permanently into yarn?

We developed a patented process that carbonizes recycled coffee grounds at 800°C, creating activated charcoal with millions of micropores (surface area: 300-500 m²/g). These particles are then melt-spun into polyester filament cores, creating permanent deodorization that can’t wash out – the charcoal IS the fiber structure.

Charcoal alone makes fabric stiff and dark. Our solution: blend SmartCoffex with moisture-wicking polyester and natural cotton. The result maintains softness, breathability, and color versatility while the embedded charcoal continuously traps odor molecules and inhibits bacterial growth through physical adsorption – no chemicals needed.
