One-Way Moisture Transfer Fabric for Sportswear | SiPHONiX®

SiPHONiX® one-way moisture transfer fabric is a development route for sportswear that needs preferential liquid movement from the skin-facing side to the outside. Specify the finished fabric by composition, construction, GSM, width, stretch and face orientation. Yarn denier alone does not define the fabric you will receive. This page covers fabric sourcing and sample approval; moisture performance must be confirmed after dyeing, finishing and the agreed care process.

Face-specific moisture behavior

Request evidence of the difference between skin-facing and outer surfaces after finishing.

Fit and comfort variables

Weight, width, stretch, opacity and hand feel must match the garment brief. Air permeability and drying are separate approval checks.

SiphoniX® Cool-dry Fabric Applications

Develop samples for running tops, soccer training jerseys, yoga garments or base layers. Each use needs its own balance of coverage, ventilation, stretch, recovery and printing compatibility. An open mesh suitable for a training top may not provide the opacity needed for fitted yoga apparel.

Cutting orientation and sample approval

Mark the approved skin-facing side on sample cards, rolls and cutting instructions. Check that panels, seams, printing and trims preserve the intended direction. Compare an unprinted sample with the finished garment panel where printing or heat treatment may change wetting.

Test the exact dyed and finished fabric with the intended skin-facing side identified. Liquid transfer, drying, air permeability and water-vapor transmission are separate properties. Agree the test method, edition, conditioning, orientation and wash milestones with the laboratory before comparing samples.

The SiPHONiX technology page explains how to read the available report excerpts. Mills developing their own construction can review SiPHONiX polyester filament yarn. Use the yarn selection guide when comparing conventional wicking with directional development.

Fabric samples, MOQ and quotation

Send the application, composition, knit structure, GSM, usable width, stretch, opacity, color, printing route, skin side, wash requirements, order quantity and timeline. Request an available swatch, development sample or lab dip as appropriate. MOQ, sample charges and lead time depend on the approved construction and color; confirm them in the quotation.
